Website: Birchbox For those who don't: want to accidentally buy sub-par beauty and lifestyle products In 2010, Hayley Barna and Katia Beauchamp asked themselves the question, what if every girl had a friend who was a beauty editor, who sorted through all the products thrown into the market, to arrive at the answer of what is best for you? They answered it by creating that friend for everyone in a website. Birchbox is a  discovery commerce platform that operates by sending roughly 5 samples to members paying only $10 a month. They then review the product for the ever-growing community with a waitlist of over 3,000 hopefuls. The website also includes a blog that covers beauty trends. Furthermore, it addresses the beauty industry's problem of wasting money on samples and translated that into $7 million of revenue in the first year. [Photo via]
