So we couldn't help but but notice that Olympians, as a species, are often attractive. In fact, some veer into the "insanely attractive" category. The Guys

Shaun White

There's got to be some kind of gene that people are born with that determines whether or not they are genetically predisposed to find Shaun White hot, because some people hate him just as vehemently as others love him, and there seems to be very little middle ground. His look is not-so-vaguely reminiscent of Carrot Top's, but the man did just win the gold for half-pipe, so that's got to give him extra points. Another endearing quality? His commercial for HP that ran a few years back was really cute....

Chad Hedrick

Speed skater Hedrick got third place in the 1,000-meter race yesterday, but he should take consolation in the fact that he is ridiculously attractive. (That's got to cheer him up a little, right?) The skater plans to retire after the Vancouver games are over, but at least he'll be bringing home a few more medals to add to his collection (which includes three golds.) The Texas-native is married and has an adorable baby. Of course he does.

Bode Miller

Wikipedia will tell you that Bode Miller is the most successful American alpine skier of all time, but what it fails to inform you is that he is also the hottest American alpin skier of all time. No, really. There will never be another. He is from New Hampshire (figures), and dated a professional log roller for a while. So that tells you something. Bode garnered significant controversy while extolling the joys of skiing drunk, which needless to say did not please the Olympic Committee. His motto is best encompassed in the title of his 2005 autobiography, "Bode: Go Fast, Be Good, Have Fun", which we can imagine applying to other things besides just skiing. He's gotten a Bronze so far in these Olympics, which seems like a fine enough performance for us. After all, he's there to party at an Olympic level...if he can win a few metals while he's doing that, that's just a bonus.

Ted Ligety

Ted Ligety is Bode Miller's roommate in Vancouver. They hang around and play Wii Tennis during weather dealys. This bores Ligety, but the idea of being snowed in a cabin with Ted Ligety and Bode Miller is pretty much the most erotic thing we've ever heard. Ligety is from Utah, and wishes every Olympic Game was in Utah, which is sort of a juvenile attitude, but come on, we don't love him for his profound views on international conviviality. Ligerty won a Gold in Torino, and is expected to perform well in Vancouver. Also, I should point out that his picture on Wikipedia is really not as hot and probably outdated, so let's just focus on the present, mmmkay?

Shani Davis

Shani Davis is the first black man to win an individual event at a Winter Olympics, but more importantly, he is very attractive. The 27 year old from Chicago is a bit of a mama's boy (and what a mama she is!), but if you can get past that, the two time Gold medalist is super cute, and interestingly, the inspiration behind Frozone from the "Incredibles". In his free time, he supports DC-ICE, (DC Inner City Excitment...see what he did there? The acronym spells ICE...cause he's a speed skater? Clever!) and attends classes at Northern Michigan University. Olympic medalist, hot, AND has his own Pixar character? What more could you ask for?

*Amazingly enough, this was an easy list to compile as most female Olympic athletes just happen to have Maxim-worthy lingerie shots of themselves!

Lindsey Vonn

26 year-old Lindsey Vonn just became first American woman to win a Gold Metal. The Minnesota native is considered by many to be the world's finest female skier, and overcame a difficult shin injury in order to make the Olympics this year, so you know she's got pluck. Fun Anecdote: Once in Austria, she severed her tendon on a champagne because someone opened the bottle with a ski (??) because the cork wouldn't come out. The dangers of sport! Lindsey is married to American skier Thomas Vonn, who, obviously, is also pretty hot.

Claudia Toth

Claudia Toth is on the Austrian curling team. Curling! That sport always seemed so...burly to me! And Canadian! Knock me over with a feather. Toth once turned down an offer to post for German Playboy, but this lingerie shot was pretty easy to find, so, it's not like she's exactly buttoned up. She has a little sister, Katrina, who is also a curler. Curling looking pretty good now, isn't it?

Julia Mancuso

Julia Mancuso sort of looks like Julia Stiles, is from Reno Nevada, and is an Olympic Gold medalist. Why is she such a good skier? According to her mother, it's because when she was five, her father was arrested and convicted of running a $140 million marijuana smuggling operation, and Julia "took everything out on the slopes. Also she has a lingerie line called "Kiss My Tiara" because she wears a tiara under her helmet during races. In the picture at left, she is holding a mug of hot chocolate to warm her up, because it can get chilly on the slopes while PRACTICALLY NAKED. [via]

Kiira Korpi

Ok, the Male Olympian section was much more fun for me to write, but even I was like "daaamn, Kiira Korpi!" She's a Finnish Figure skater, and this is her first time in the Olympics. She's only 21. There isn't really a lot to say about her, but she's pretty, no?

Gretchen Bleiler

Gretchen Bleiler is a half-pipe snowboarder from Colorado, who designs for Oakley, poses for Maxim, and wins Olympic medals in her spare time. Her twitter is basically all about snowboarding (shocking), but her obvious excitement at participating in another Olympics is pretty endearing. And, unsurprisingly again, guys freaking love her, as evidenced by the posts on her Official Facebook Page. My Favorite? "If I knew where she snowboards I'd be there every single day, man."
