Who Is John Matze?
First, let's discuss the man himself. John Matze graduated from the University of Denver in 2014, where he studied math, German, and business. He was involved in a few tech companies and briefly worked at Amazon before founding Parler in 2018 with college friend Jared Thomson. The self-described libertarian aimed to create a platform promoting "free speech," so, needless to say, it became overrun by the far-right.
