Former Miss Malaysia

While the rest of the world has been speaking up for Black lives, Samantha Katie James, the beauty queen who represented Malaysia in the 2017 Miss Universe competition, decided to go completely insane on her Instagram stories regarding the topic. In a series of posts, she said things like "To the black people, relax, take it as a challenge, makes you stronger" and "[you] chose to be born as a coloured person in America for a reason." Girl, WHAT? She immediately faced backlash, including from Crazy Rich Asians hunk Henry Golding who responded on his own IG stories, "You have zero idea what black people have to go through on a day-to-day basis. For you to be talking such racist nonsense on a platform like yours needs to be called out."

Like clockwork, she posted a dumb apology on Instagram. Like, really dumb.
