Vince Vaughn, Sam Rockwell and Justin Long attended the world premiere of the documentary, "Just Like Us," at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday at the Village East Cinema. (That's right! The WORLD!)-
Directed by Ahmed Ahmed, "Just Like Us" watches as a group of comedians travel from Dubai to Beirut, Riyadh to Cairo with two goals in mind: the first is make people laugh about the realities of life in the Middle East with their stand up routines, and the second is to break the stereotypes that designate Muslims as threatening and somber people. Sounds like an important task, right? Advocating diversity and encouraging open mindedness by laughing at the stereotypes themselves? Bold, yes, but also the best way to fight the good fight. (That's the fight for equality, in case you were wondering.)
