The Feminist Queen?

Ironically, the new princess and her family hope that her status as a potential female monarch would make Italy more "progressive" on the grounds of gender equality. "It’s a huge thing in history,” her mother told the New York Times about Vittoria's appointment.

"Italy is not really progressive," Vittoria herself said about the prospect of being a woman ruler, "but they will learn."

“Monarchies,” said her father, “at least we give the power to the women.”

Because, obviously, reinstating a monarchy is the most progressive thing a nation could do.
