After a yearlong engagement, the couple tied the knot with a fairy tale affair in June 2015 at the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. While there was some controversy at the beginning of their courtship (like Meghan Markle, she faced media criticism along with rumors that Prince Carl Philip's mother, Queen Silvia didn't exactly approve of the match), Sofia was soon embraced by the public and the royal family.
