Barbuto

BarbutoThe best bit about Barbuto is the airy setting: the garage-style doors can completely slide open to let the café-style tables spill out onto the street. The food, however, is an intensely close second. Barbuto's menu, described as "aggressively seasonal," changes daily; Chef Jonathan Waxman keeps things simple in order to truly show off the taste of his fine ingredients. If you're lucky, you'll catch his Crispy Potato Gnocchi with Squash and Parmesan or Marinated Lamb with Fregola Sarda and Blood Orange. Of course, the restaurant is known of Waxman's legendary Roasted JW Chicken and Salsa Verde, so if anything, make sure not to leave without tasting that first (or come back for a second round after The Whitney).
