There's a new brunch on the downtown scene, and it's charming and rustic and delicious and you need to try it.
Nestled right in the elbow crook of Commerce Street, in the quietest corner of the West Village, sits The Commerce Inn, a Shaker-inspired tavern from the team behind neighborhood favorites Via Carota, Buvette and Bar Pisellino.
After serving up a foodie favorite dinner service the last two years, the American culinary spot has finally branched out into the world of brunch!
On the savory side, expect Salt Beef Hash with dropped eggs, Succotash with corn, peppers, cherry tomatoes and beans, Half Fry’d Chicken with hot pepper jelly, and Lamb Pasty with spiced chopped lamb and peas.
And for those looking for a sweet afternoon affair, there's fluffy Pancakes topped with blueberries, an assortment of Morning Pastries featuring Apricot Turnovers, Doughnuts, Scones with clotted cream, and more.
The beverage menu is just as inspired, featuring a handful of Bloody Mary options, like the Green Tomato with cucumber, celery and basil is a thumbs up and the Bloody Bull with red tomato and oxtail broth.
