Since opening its doors around a year and a smidge ago, King has proven a restaurant for all seasons and all occasions. The charmingly simple space, with its charmingly simple, daily changing menu, has, well, charmed diners in search of a classic New York dining experience.
An in demand reservation, to say the least, consider yourself in luck! The success of their Sunday lunch series (each celebrating a different region of France or Italy, pairing a four course shared set menu and large-format wines) has seen the Soho spot announce their new hours for weekly lunch service. Starting Tuesday, January 16th, you'll want to find an excuse to be in the neighborhood Monday through Friday, from 12PM - 2PM.
Needless to say, we're already calling this as the new premier downtown lunch destination. Sticking with their daily changing, seasonally inspired menu schtick, expect such light options as the below:
Finochietta
Carta di musica with butter, anchovy and chili
Artichoke vinaigrette
Harry’s Bar sandwich
Stracciatella
Insalata d’Inverno with ricotta salata and pomegranate
Gnudi bianco with Capezzana fresh press olive oil
Whole Boston mackerel grilled with preserved lemons, ceci and parsley
Saltimbocca di pollo with capers, sage and braised cavolo nero
Onglet grilled over thyme branches with borlotti, mustard and watercress
