Recommendations for Restaurant Week Summer 2010

    New York's Restaurant Week Summer 2010 is finally upon us. Foodies and those who want to try the city's top eateries are able to do so at prices starting at $24.07 for lunch and $35 for dinner. Our recommendations for winter's restaurant week are still hot but we have narrowed down the best of the best even further.-

    Aquavit (65 E55th St, (212) 307- 7311)

    You will definitely get a little taste of Scandinavia when visiting Marcus Samuelsson's restaurant. With multiple three star New York Times reviews and unique choices like Herring Smorrebroad and Asparagus Barlotto, this eatery is a place you must make a reservation at.

    The Bar Room at The Modern (9 W 53rd St, (212) 333-1220)

    Within the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) holds the restaurant that is hailed by almost everyone as one of the required places of Restaurant Week. There are more than the usual three to four options per course and they are all extremely mouth-watering (even by their descriptions).

    Restaurant Week Truck

    For those of you who can't make it to the restaurants themselves or don't want a full three course meal, stop by the Restaurant Week Truck for delicious soups by the some of the city's best restaurants including Dos Caminos, A Voce, Megu,SD26 Restaurant and Wine Bar, Delmonicos Steakhouse, and Rocking Horse Cafe. It is located at Broadway and 50th Street from July 12 to 14 and Fifth Ave and 18th Street from July 15 to 16. The truck is there from 11:30am-1:30pm.

    Park Avenue Summer (100 E63rd St, (212) 644-1990)

    At Park Avenue, the menu changes according to the season and the freshest food within each season. Summer time includes an expanding range of produce and foods which makes typical dishes like Caesar Salad and Fusilli Pesto extraordinary. Besides restaurant week, be sure to check out Park Avenue during the Winter, Spring, and Autumn as well.

    Gotham Bar and Grill (12 E12th St, (212) 620-4020)

    A popular New York eatery throughout the year, Gotham Bar and Grill offers simple and flavorful options for it's prix fix Restaurant Week menu.The contemporary American dishes are made with ingredients from local farmers and also they use eco-friendly cooking methods and techniques.

    Delmonico's Steakhouse (56 Beaver St, (212) 509-1144)

    This restaurant has a reputation for doing steak the right way. Because plates here are normally expensive, restaurant week makes it an opportune time to visit. With dishes that aren't only meat oriented, everyone can enjoy something from this upscale steakhouse.
