Party's Over: Kenmare To Shut Down For 3 Weeks For Joey Campanoro To Move In

    Nur Khan, Paul SevignyFashion week always has a way of sending this city into overdrive. What party is the hottest to be spotted at? Who's venue was in fashion? etc. And, while I surely alone couldn't keep up with it all, I was curious to get the scoop on the BUZZING Kenmare directly from the horses mouth. Nur Khan got on the phone with me a bit this morning to set the record straight...

    Rachelle: "I'm hearing all this buzz from the party that Mick Jagger threw there (Kenmare) last night. Sounded fun. You guys have pretty much won "Best Place To Hold Your Fashion Week Party" this year. What now?"

    Nur: "Yeah, you know fashion week is fun, and we have a great lounge at Kenmare, and we threw down the same amount of parties at Rose, but now it's time for me to go in a different direction. Kenmare is a restaurant and we are excited to give Joey Campanoro (of Little Owl) full reign so he can train his team and open."

    R: "So you won't be throwing any more parties this week?"

    N: "We are closing down for the next 3 weeks so Joey can train his staff. Then we are 100% full on restaurant. We will always have a cool downstairs lounge, but this is a new direction from what I've done before."

    R: "And the rumors? That this is the Beatrice Inn reincarnate?"

    N: "This is Joey's thing. We will always have a cool downstairs to chill out in, but this is a restaurant, not a Beatrice Inn."

    There you have it. I for one, am excited to start checking out the Mediterranean food that Campanoro is known for. Beatrice Inn fans may not be thrilled with this revelation, however there's light at the end of the tunnel. Sean MacPhearson told me on Wednesday night (at Spotted Pig for Ben Leventhal's launch for his new project at NBC NY called "FEAST")  that the Jane Ballroom will be reopening soon enough, in her full glory. HOORAY!
