It's a Michelin-star pizza party over at Mel’s and all are invited!
For the next two months celebrated chef Melissa Rodriguez is lending her pizza oven to a few of the city's most notable culinary talents to dream up a delicious new pie to throw on the menu.
To kick things off, now through July 21st diners can find Chef Daniel Boulud's Pizza Pavillon. Inspired by one of his restaurant's classics, the pizza features a parsley-seaweed crust, an oyster chowder base, and is topped with oysters, potatoes, leeks and hazelnuts.
July 22nd through August 4th, Chef Gabriel Kreuther's serving up a pie of black dry cured olives, red onion, green bell pepper, cured anchovy and ricotta.
August 5th through August 18th is The Sunflower by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a Sungold tomato sauce, market summer squash and squash blossom with mozzarella and ricotta cheese.
And to finish everything up, August 19th through September 1st there's Chef Junghyun Park's K-Mediterranean Pizza, a sardine-kimchi pizza with pork belly, fried sardines, kimchi, and fresh arugula.
