Chef Elizabeth Falkner opened her Boerum Hill pizzeria
Krescendo last fall, gaining attention for her unexpected flashes of culinary prowess. The seemingly ordinary menu offers standard fare, such as pizza knots, meatballs, and simple pastas. But the brick-oven pies are what make Krescendo a stand-out; under the Pizza Italiana Classica category, the pie called the "Finocchio Flower Power" uses fennel and fennel sausage to complement sharp provolone and red chiles.
