If the real hipsters have deserted the Bowery, they’ve left some highly coveted space to fill. While we’ll certainly miss them, we await with bated breath the imminent coming of two of New York’s hottest restauranteurs and their new Bowery joints. Keith McNally and Daniel Boulud are bringing their respective pizza and burger spots to our hood, and quite frankly, we're psyched.
After a 4 year struggle, McNally recently secured the corner at 282 Bowery, which he described as a “gritty, ungentrifiable, New York crossroads,” (really Keith? Across the street from Whole Foods?) for a pizzeria slated to open next year. But before then, we’ll have our eye on Boulud’s tentatively named DBGB Kitchen & Bar just a block away at No. 299, a "French Brasserie meets American diner" which will include a hefty beer selection in addition to bistro fare, coming in April.
