Katz’s Deli has seen the city weather quite a few storms throughout its 132 year history. But as always, they've found a way to keep pushing on. While the LES spot is famous for the ever-present line of hungry patrons which snakes its way down Houston, they'll now be transforming their sidewalk show into an outdoor dining space for pastrami lovers to enjoy.
The Jewish deli has lined a number of outdoor tables alongside their wall, and even converted old pickle barrels into planters to create a particularly on-brand al fresco situation.
Of course, the food landmark has been plenty busy the past few months before this most recent, exciting development. Devoted to giving back to their community, since the start of COVID-19 they've partnered with the Henry Street Settlement to donate matzoh ball soup to their LES neighbors, and delivered meals to healthcare workers.
