With bars and eateries across the city getting creative with their outdoor dining setups this winter, there's practically just as many options for all occasions as there were in the before-times. And if you're looking for a romantic date night vibe or an intimate (and Instagrammable) nightcap with your crew, you've now got a new spot to add to your hit-list.
Funky West Village favorite Katana Kitten, beloved for its innovative cocktails and modern Japanese eats, has set up shop al fresco, unveiling an adorable mini-village of rustic tents for guests to cozy up in by candlelight.
Built and hand-stitched by the bar's owner and bartending master, Masahiro Urushido, the tents set a dreamy scene for izakaya-style bites and sips that are sure to warm you up. In addition to their famous selection of highballs and sandos, the seasonal specials include Masa’s Hojicha Hot Toddy (Chivas Regal 12-Year, apple cider, hojicha, white port, and maple) as well as Japanese comfort food like Oden (a seafood stew) and bone broth.
Forget the Catskills, we are now all about going camping in Japan.
