Madangsui

Madangsui
Having a wide range of Korean soups, entrees and BBQ options, Madangsui is a solid choice for Korean food in the city. Granted, BBQ prices are bit high, but it's worth it. Since there are so many good meats to choose from, we suggest getting the BBQ combination of marinated pork, boneless rib-eye, and anything else--you can't go wrong. Be adventurous and try the yook hwe, or raw beef sashimi that is so fresh and nicely marinated that it melts in your mouth. And as the weather gets colder, many Koreans go for Mandooguk, or dumpling soup. If you're looking for a drink, try Book Bun Ja, a Korean raspberry wine. But the oldest and most traditional drink in Korea is Mak Geol Li, a rice wine with a milky color and texture. At Madangsui, the choice should be Cham Sary Mak Geol Li, which won the top award at the Korean Traditional Drink competition. Madangsui- 35 W 35th St, New York, NY 10001 [Photo via]
