Crown Shy

This Financial District's New American instant-classic is helmed by Chef James Kent, who used to run the kitchen at the NoMad, and Jeff Katz, a managing partner at Del Posto. So it's no wonder these two knew what they were doing when they opened Crown Shy this spring. With seasonal ingredients, an approachable menu, 16-foot ceilings (and windows, for that matter), and a snug spot on the ground floor of a 1932 art-deco building, everything from the food to the lobby is an experience. Michelin agrees, awarding it one star.
