Other details: Last night, designer Lauren X. Khoo presented her luxury jewelry collection for the first time in the US at a private collection event on the Upper East Side. The intimate cocktail reception was hosted by Selita Ebanks, Natalia Gottret-Echavarrie, Clare McKeon, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Kelly Behun-Sugarman and Lauren Khoo to benefit the charity, New Yorkers for Children. A percentage of all sales made at the event was donated to the charity which aims support young children in foster care promoting paths to stable adulthood through building sustainable relationships. Each piece in Khoo's collection has a story behind it, and the collection as a whole is divided into four segments. Khoo spent some time with us to give us insight as too what inspired her in her pieces. Each piece in her collection is limited in quantity and Khoo joked "I get to a point where I just stop!" Many of the pieces were inspired by the Victorian era, with one of her cornerstone pieces, a heart necklace with three arrows through it, was inspired by a previous relationship with each of the arrows representing a year she was in her previous relationship. A ruby ring, titled "The Gift" took a more playful approach and was inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
