Other details: Over 500 supporters joined the Manhattan Young Democrats (MYD) last night at Up & Down for the largest Young Democrats event in the country. The annual event honors 5 young leaders under 35 for their work and achievements in progressive causes. The 2014 honorees included Mayor Svante Myrick of Ithaca (one of the youngest Mayor’s in the country), Danny Corum of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), District Leader Carlina River, Sara Valenzeula & Monica F. Guerra of the Women’s Information Network (WIN.NYC). The event will help MYD continue to activate, educate and empower the next generation of democratic leaders.
