    Who Was There: Kanye West, Jessica Szoh, Nicole Fiscell, Minka Kelly, Leighton Meester, Chiddy Bang, Jared Let, Irina Shayek, Julie Henderson

    Other Details: Kanye West is living large lately, popping up at The Jane, The Standard, and Avenue. Last night he surprised everyone when he showed up at Nylon's bash to fete Leighton Meester's cover. @raspberried who Twitpic'd this image wrote (either super excitedly or drunk): "HE JUST RANDOMLY SHOWED UP TO HER NYLON RELEASE PARTY. I JUST. HONORED TO EVEN STAN." said "Kanye @ nylon party taking pics w strangers woah." Could we see him on the cover of a future issue?     HBO Films & The Cinema Society Screening & After Party For  of "SUNSET LIMITED"

    Who Was There: Tommy Lee Jones, Samuel L Jackson, Cormac McCarthy, 50 Cent, Josh Lucas, Josh Duhamel, Patricia Clarkson, Paul Haggis, Jason Reitman, Epatha Merkerson, Stephen Baldwin, Andrew Saffir

    Other Details: Tommy Lee Jones acts in and directs HBO's new movie "The Sunset Limited," based on the play by Cormac McCarthy. The actor and author were in attendance along with Tommy's costar Samuel L Jackson. Post screening, the actors and their friends hit Porter House at Time Warner for filet mignon, drinks and conversation. 50 Cent was in the house, wearing his own brand of wireless headphones. [Via]

    Other Details: The Orchid Dinner was held at Mandarin hotel again this year after its previously location, the Rainbow Room, was shuttered. John A. Thain, chairman and chief executive officer of CIT Group Inc best known for spending $35,000 on a golden toilet, bought an orchid sweetly named Cattleya Pastoral Innocence for $170.  Martha Stewart got herself orchids with pink tips, telling Bloomberg “They remind me of high-school corsages."     Other Details: Whitney Port, recognizable by her perpetual empty expression, signed copies of her book "True Whit."     Other Details: The swimwear brand presented its line at the hotel with the help of hosts Valerie Boster and Julie Henderson. Guests were treated to a viewing of the short film "Sayulita."

    Other Details: Sounds like this is one to see. Says PAPER's Whitney Spaner: Jay Wilkinson stars as a Jewish Confederate soldier who, despite the gangrene on his leg, manages to be the cutest Confederate we've ever seen. When Wilkinson comes home from the war, he finds his house ruined and abandoned, with two of his family's long-time, now-freed slaves, played by the fabulous Andre Braugher and Andre Holland, residing there. There's an interesting twist at the end that had the audience gasping in surprise at the performance we were at this past weekend. [Via]
