Pioneer Works Village Fête
Why: Visiting Pioneer Works is an experience in itself. Discovering the phenomenal artist space is a pleasure, enjoying a party there is simply refreshing, but enjoying an art auction while tasting a whole-cow dinner prepared by The Fat Radish before watching a performance by Ariel Pink & The Haunted Graffiti was one of the most unique and entertaining experiences we've had all year.

The dinner consisted of the cow, a shaved brussel sprout and parmesan salad, a quinoa salad, and skewered vegetables, all made with The Fat Radish's signature touch. Paddle8's Alexander Gilkes hosted a live auction during the meal, and was followed by an opera singer whose voice carried throughout the bi-level space. Immediately following the dinner, Mike D of the Beastie Boys got on the decks to get the crowd warmed up for the party. The dancefloor really filled up when Ariel Pink took the stage, with Gemima Kirke, Alix Brown, and Harry Beee all excited to catch his garage-rock set. MGMT and Chances With Wolves closed out the night with a DJ set, and guests left the tremendously fun night with an issue of Pioneer Works' magazine 'Intercourse' and a matching tote bag.
