Bringing the party spirit alive this winter season is often the job of various distilled spirits, so it's easy to assume the most spirited party of the season is the Distilled Spirits Council of the US Holiday Season Celebration.
Last Friday, DISCUS (the clever acronym for the Distilled Spirits Council) held their annual celebration in Inside Park at St. Barts. The subtle interior of the restaurant set off the various sponsors of the event well, and each circuit of the tables was a another round of tasty treats designed to set your head spinning. Especially popular was the Patron table, a stop I'm sure Ms. Susan Sarandon would make, had she been able to get in to the private event.
DISCUS is the national trade association representing America's leading distillers and nearly 70% of all distilled spirits brands sold in this country. Therefore, I think it's safe to say that most of the holiday parties will need to offer at least one toast to DISCUS to say thank you for providing us with some holiday spirit.
