The protesters were obviously not fans of this idea, however Mayor Michael Bloomberg re-iterated his reasoning on twitter:
Inaction was not an option: we could not wait for someone in the park to be killed or injure someone else.Zuccotti Park will be reopened with no camping allowed. [The Daily]
