Visit Museums

WhitneyObviously New York is full of famous museums, but their exhibits aren't always permanent. There have been some incredible temporary exhibits this summer featuring art, history, music, and so much more. Make sure to visit exhibits like these ones, before they're gone forever: The Met (1000 5th Ave, NYC) - China: Through the Looking Glass. This exhibit explores the way traditional Chinese aesthetics influenced Western fashion, and features modern high fashion juxtaposed with Chinese costumes, artifacts, and films. This exhibit is only extended until September 7th, so make sure to visit ASAP! The Whitney (99 Gansevoort St, NYC) - Mary Heilmann: Sunset. Heilmann is known for her vibrant and abstract paintings. This exhibit is site-specific, and uses the museum's outdoor gallery as a setting for scattered sculptural chairs. Not to mention, the Whitney's terrace has an incredible skyline of Manhattan. This exhibit, lasting until September 27th, will guarantee the perfect Instagram. [Photo via @whitneymuseum]
