Far Rockaway's beaches are among the surf hot spots in New York City. Surf lessons by New York Surf School are held 7 days a week all summer long. Two hour private lessons start at $175 and two hour groups lessons start at $90 per person for groups 3-4. Prices become cheaper per person the larger the group, so bring the whole the gang. Don't forget a change of clothes, since they have hot showers and changing areas at the Surf Shop. They also offer surf yoga lessons. NY Surf School is certified by the National Surf Schools and Instructors Association, so you know you're getting a professional experience.
