Park Avenue Armory

Those who've been watching HBO's The Gilded Age may have caught a reference to this National Guard armory-turned-event space. The Gothic Revival style building was designed by Charles Clinton and built in 1880, originally serving as the headquarters for the 7th New York Militia Regiment (also known as the Silk Stocking Regiment due to its members from prominent families, including the Vanderbilts, Van Rensselaers, Roosevelts, Stewarts, Livingstons, and Harrimans).

The building features ornamental design details throughout its multiple reception rooms as well as a 55,000-square-foot drill hall which is still tapped for large events, from art fairs to fashion shows.
