There's rarely justification for choosing a cab over a subway.
Cabs and subways are usually equally as disgusting- meaning there are cabs and subways cars that are gross, and some that are...less gross. And they also usually get you the same places in the same amount of time. I can count on one hand how many times a cab or Uber has gotten me somewhere faster than a subway ever could. And a bonus about the subway: no one wants to talk to you. In a cab, you run the risk of your driver trying to make small talk.
