The Cloisters in Washington Heights at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art's satellite location. The authenticity is not manufactured: the 5 French Abbeys were built brick by brick on the other side of the Atlantic and then transported to New York in 1934 and re-composed in Fort Tryon Park. There is something innately romantic about walking through the architecture of our favorite fairy tales.
