Because they weren't technically married, Lee wasn't entitled to a state security detail, but that didn't stop her from embracing her public-facing role alongside Cuomo and acting as any First Lady does, working with causes close to her heart. She visited food banks across the state to help New Yorkers who can't afford food - and paid for all the transportation and security herself.
