The Dalton School

Back in January, a similar incident went down at the tony Dalton School, another Upper East Side private school that charges over $54,000 a year.

An anonymous letter reportedly written by parents and alumni was sent around, decrying the school's "woke" agenda. Sigh. Here we go:

Every class this year has had an obsessive focus on race and identity, ‘racist cop’ reenactments in science, ‘de-centering whiteness’ in art class, learning about white supremacy and sexuality in health class. Wildly inappropriate, many of these classes feel more akin to a Zoom corporate sensitivity-training than to Dalton’s intellectually engaging curriculum.

The outrage came in the wake of an 8-page proposal issued by Dalton, outlining the ways it would tackle discussions of race and racism.

"The idea that being white automatically means you are privileged or a white supremacist is ridiculous. My child comes from people who had to fight for everything they got," one parent told the New York Post at the time.

Another, who pulled his kid out immediately, said, "it’s completely absurd and a total step backwards... The school is more focused on virtue-signaling this nonsense than it is in actually helping students of color. More parents are going to be pulling their kids out."
