How did you land at the Hotel Chelsea and how would you describe your role there?
I first visited the hotel back in August 2001 while traveling to New York for the first time with my mother. I came back exactly 21 years later this past August for my birthday. A week later I met with hotel management and the rest is history…
I act as Maître D' for our newly opened Lobby Bar. The hotel never had its own bar, so [co-owner] Sean MacPherson and his partners decided to build one that was inspired by the classic European style lobby bar and captured the original Victorian features of the hotel. It’s bathed with golden lighting and filled with art on the walls made by people who have lived at Hotel Chelsea over the years.
