An old fashioned art made fresh and exciting by Marcie Pantzer's brilliant stationery brand Dear Annabelle. 

The former Town & Country editor launched her collection of luxury paper products last September. And just like that, overnight, her chic, stylish, flirty cards became an absolute must-have on every well-appointed society girl's desk. Proving that there is far more to the world of paper mail than just Thank You notes.

How did you first get into stationery?
I've been obsessed with writing letters since I was a little girl. When I went to sleep-away camp in second grade, I wrote letters to my friends and family back home, and I have the fondest memories of sending off those envelopes and awaiting their replies. It made me feel close to people who were far away, and showed me the magic of correspondence. I also loved letter writing supplies - I collected Sanrio stationery and had an epic stash of pencils.

How do you personally go about writing a letter?
I like to keep it short and sweet, with a touch of wit. I always think for a moment before I start writing about what I really want to say and distill it down to one or two sentences. For me, the feeling of receiving a letter brings so much joy. A little bit goes a long way in terms of the message.

What's the best letter you've ever received?
My college acceptance letter and the very sweet note my grandfather wrote me when I graduated.

What's your favorite excuse for writing to someone?
I love sending letters for no reason at all, simply because I am thinking of someone. To receive a note out of the blue is so fun, and is such a welcome bright spot in the midst of all the bill and junk mail.

How many letters do you think you've sent during quarantine?
I've probably sent out about 3-4 per week, so over 100 notes by now?!

What's your pro tip for personalizing your note?
Develop a signature sign-off or add a little doodle. I always draw a little heart next to my name and often color it in with a hot pink or red marker. I always put a heart on the outside of the envelope under the recipient's name.
