Armie's Grandfather, Julian Hammer

Next, we have the black sheep in the family: Julian Hammer.

On his 26th birthday, in 1955, Julian killed a man in his L.A. home for purported gambling debts and apparently hitting on his wife. The incident made headlines, but, wouldn't you know it, the charges were dropped when his dad delivered $50,000 in cash to a lawyer, making a way for him to plead self-defense.

He was surely a disappointment, so it wasn’t a huge surprise when, instead of passing the family business onto Julian, Armand’s only son, the oil tycoon tapped Michael, Julian's son, and Armie's father.
