"Highway Therapy" Transfer

Unsurprisingly, the governor wasn't thrilled when he found out that one of his bodyguards was cozying up to his daughter, who happens to be 10 years the dude's junior, and reportedly took matters into his own hands. Although Pfeiffer requested a “voluntary transfer” at the end of May, sources told the Post that "he was transferred to keep him away from the daughter because the governor didn’t like whatever they were doing." His new post is way up in Plattsburgh, just south of the Canadian border. And while no misconduct or official disciplinary action has been recorded, the long commute to his new station from his home near Albany is considered an informal punishment known as "highway therapy" among law enforcement. Still, a spokesperson for Cuomo maintains "the governor had nothing to do with the transfer — it was requested by the trooper."
