Dress The Part
Now, to follow up with my previous point - after you do your sartorial research, make sure you look the part. It always feels great to show up to an event feeling confident in your wardrobe choice. But, what happens when your research brings back mixed results? Maybe some people have worn gowns but others a t-shirt and designer jeans? In that case, I’m always a "more is more" type of girl and decide to opt for a dressier approach. As Oscar Wilde once said, "you can never be overdressed or over-educated" - so true. Also, when it comes to getting gala ready, there's no need to go out and break the bank on a new dress, because in New York who really has the budget or space? I suggest services like Rent the Runway and VillageLuxe, so you can wear the dress one night and return it the next!
