Eye-popping art and killer fashion got together last week at Reiss Soho for an art show and auction to benefit the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). The monolithic walls at Reiss (the DKNY of the U.K.) on West Broadway were screaming with color from the wild abstracts of painter DM Weil who shows exclusively at Gallery 721 @ Sobro. More story and photos below... Javier Rey was the guest bartender from Lazarza. Guests took turns taking in the art and trying on the latest Reiss Fashions like ruffled short skirts and miltary-inspired rolled-sleeved shirts. On hand to lend their support were Billie Causieestko, stylist to the Miss USA pageant and the always divine Miss Jacqueline (Tajah) Murdock, grande dame of dance.
Once bellies and shopping bags were full, it was time for the live auction and a chance to bid on a wish list of goodies -- a years supply of Vitamin Water, a Links of London watch, Reiss gift certificate, year's membership to David Barton Gym and the piste de resistance, a DM Weil painting.
All eyes were on Lyndon Mackenzie, Reiss store manager and auctioneer, as he dazzled and cajoled the crowd to the tune of over $3,000 to benefit CCFA, gratefully accepted by Frankie Marrone, Fred Cabral and Rhonda Potter from the Team Challenge for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
