If you've been wondering where all the cool kids will be drinking this summer, we've got your answer.
Happy Be, a new rooftop bar overlooking Tribeca, is already an art world favorite, making its debut with a bash hosted by Artnet during Frieze week, attended by a slew of downtown insiders.
Owned and operated by Dream Logic Hospitality, the slightly hidden watering hole is entered through a side door of the Walker Hotel on Cortlandt Alley, tucked among the street's lineup of contemporary art galleries. Once you head up on the elevator, you'll find a lush, greenery-lined oasis filled with relaxed banquettes, wooden pergolas, work from local artists, and private nooks practically made for chance encounters. The haunt's laid-back charm combines the energy of New York street culture with the romance of an English garden, and it gets its name from a line in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream that refers to a euphoric state of being. Sounds promising, no?
Happy Be is now open from 5 pm to 11 pm Tuesday through Thursday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Stop by for one of their signature cocktails, which include the Tropical Negroni (coconut-infused rum, Campari, sweet vermouth, pineapple-moringa tea, and orange marmalade) and the Kombunation (kombu-infused rye whiskey, cognac, Benedictine, Cynar, Tio Pepe Sherry, wormwood bitter, ginseng, kombu-tincture) while taking in stunning 360-degree views of the city.
