4. SCOTCH

Say no to this: Scotch and Soda
Get this instead: Blood and Sand

Spy a nice smoky scotch behind the bar? It would be a shame not to order this sexy sounding classic, dubbed for the 1922 movie of the same name. The original recipe calls for equal parts blended scotch, sweet vermouth, cherry brandy or liqueur (like Cherry Heering or Luxardo), and fresh orange juice. It's shaken and strained, served up. This is traditionally garnished with a cherry but remember, this is a no-maraschino zone (even though we're playing with fire here given the cherry-forward flavor profile), so make sure that thing is brandied.
