This New "Luxury Cocktail Art House" Is Like A Boozy Apothecary

Looking for an elixir to ease your stress? A concoction that makes your skin glow? How about a little love potion to toast with your boo? 

We know just the spot.

No, we're not sending you off to Hogwarts, but rather DOM, the swanky new cocktail lounge that basically doubles as a boozy apothecary. 

Short for "Domicile," DOM is the recently opened brainchild of legendary mixologist and self-proclaimed "cocktail artist," Albert Trummer (the guy behind Apothéke and Sanatorium), and his son, Jakob Trummer. The sleek spot is tucked away on the lower level of the United Charities Building, the opulent Gramercy landmark that opened to the public for the first time in over a century with the debut of British steakhouse, Hawksmoor. Clearly, we now have a second reason to visit. 

Conceptually, DOM aims to be "a nightlife and cultural space based on exploration, experimentation, and collaboration." Functionally, it's an undeniably stylish place to grab a drink. 

At the striking, honeycomb-esque bar, lined with apothecary bottles of Trummer's own elixirs, an immersive drinking experience awaits. The "Selection of House Medicine" features boozy, botanically rich mixtures fit for every concern, from Health and Beauty to Pain Killers and Stress Relievers to Aphrodisiacs and Euphoric Enhancers (including a large-format house absinthe). Talk about fancy pharmaceuticals.

In order to embody a modern La Dolce Vita vibe, the space was designed and furnished by Milan-based design house Cappellini led by local New York designer Cassidy Miller Studios. The result is a "retro-future" atmosphere with areas for private tastings, art, and even multimedia installations. 

Ready to drink away your ailments? The cocktail pharmacists are in Monday through Saturday from 4 pm to 2 am at 287 Park Avenue South.
