NYC Nightlife: Everything You Need To Know Monday

Death & Co. ventures into FiDi, the Lower East Side gets tired of the crap, Alto and Convivo close down, Dettman and Steffi take over Public Assembly, cabbie runs over late night club-goer while another gets shot. It's all here in today's nightlife round-up.

1. Death & Co.'s Fancy Cocktails Coming Soon to the Financial District. [DNA info]

Apparently the owners of Death & Co., which was temporarily shut down last week, plan on expanding into the Financial District as early as this summer.

"A preliminary cocktail menu includes the Mai Bumbye with white rum, pisco, fresh lime juice, orange curacao, orange marmalade and mint sprig garnish, and the Fity Fitty with gin, dry vermouth, orange bitters and a twist of lemon, each $14."

"Small plates will cost $6 to $8, while the main dishes will run $15 to $19. Desserts, including a chocolate pot de crème and banana bread pudding with rum raisin ice cream, will cost $8 to $9."

2. Cut The Crap: Lower East Side residents get fed up with pile up of s---. [NY Post]

LES residents have finally had enough of the manure minefield they're forced to navigate through. Residents are fed up that the NYPD who patrols the club-centric hub in order to disperse rowdy bar-hoppers, does nothing about the massive piles of crap their horses leave behind.

3. Cabbie's refusal to drive club-goers home lands one man in the hospital in a critical condition. [NY Daily]

After a night of partying in midtown, four friends were trying to hail a cab to take them to the Bronx. One driver, Mohammed Azam, refused to drive them and instead took them to the North Precinct Station House hoping the police would support his refusal. After being reprimanded by the police, the cabbie decided to drive his cab into the four friends. Trying to get out of the way, Anthony Loretto jumped onto the hood but was eventually thrown off-leading to a fractured skull and broken leg. Lorretto is in stable but critical condition.

4. D.J.'S Marcel Dettman and Steffi present tough choice to Bunker Crowd. [The Feast]

Friday night D.J.'s Marcel Dettman and Steffi took over Public Assembly. With Dettman spinning in the backroom and Steffi in the front, those fortunate enough to be there got quite the experience.

5. Arrivederci Alto and Convivo Close. [Grub Street]

"On Friday, Eater reported that Alto and Convivio, which you'll recall were Chris Cannon's spoils in his split from Michael White, were shuttered for the day; later, the update came that both restaurants had abruptly closed for good."

6. A late night of drinks and cocktails ends up in the death of 25 year old man on the Upper West Side. [NY Post]

Floyd Miller was shot in the torso in front of NoCo Bar & Lounge on the Upper West Side early Sunday morning after a gunman opened fire around 3 a.m. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital and no arrests have been made.

7. Invisible-Exports throws a not so secret party at the semi-secret Wooly. [NYTimes.com]

Invisible-Exports, a tiny subversiver gallery on the Lower East Side, held a party at The Wooly, the semi-secret lounge in the basement of the Woolworth building, in order to unveil two new works. The party also honored Eric Shiner the new acting director of the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. The event attracted quite the fashionable crowd such as Deborah Kass and "Gossip Girl's" Penn Badgley.
