There's no getting around it: Johnny's is a hole in the wall. Literally. If you walk down Greenwich Ave too quickly, you'll miss it. But for those who like a real dive bar (as opposed to a bourgie bar masquerading as a dive), Johnny's is your place! Though the decor leaves a little to be desired, cheap drinks (including the Shot of the Day) and a jukebox more than make up for it.
With happy hour specials like "Buy 2, Get 1 Free," it's no wonder more than a few boozehounds have fallen off their barstools before the sun went down. In the words of the Village Voice: "At these prices, you can afford to buy a total stranger a beer and see to what absurd heights the conversation leads."
