To this day I still ask people if they've ever gone to Westway, a converted strip club turned insane nightclub by Matt Kliegman and Carlos Quirarte in 2011. It had two rooms - a kind of dive bar on one side, with a light-up dance floor a la Saturday Night Fever, then the main room, which would open up late; it featured a giant strip club runway everyone would dance on, and an elevated DJ booth. You could secretly smoke in the pitch-black back room (where I'm guessing the lap dances used to go down). It was where I first tried Molly (#tbt) and Mary-Kate and/or Ashley were there. Vice hosted a dog fashion show there, and Valentino once stopped by to sing karaoke. It was a wild spot where a VFILES crowd would mingle with finance bros, and one that hasn't been lived up to since.
