Rose Bar
The fantastic cocktails and the Andy Warhol paintings matches perfectly with the fireplace at the
Gramercy Park Hotel. The doorman can be a bit selective, but if you arrive before 10 p.m. or put in a reservation request the day before, having a seat near the fireplace will keep you at the Rose Bar most of the night. The bar's velvet chairs are filled by a wide-ranging crowd, mostly those who can appreciate a 15-foot gold leaf Warhol print and Julian Schnabel paintings, such as the one above the fireplace.
Aged scotches and South American liquors like cachaça sit on oak-leaf shelves above the bar. The Rose Bar's martini is one of the best in the city: Gin, Glenfiddich, pear puree, agave nectar and sweet vermouth.
