How do you know Fall Fashion Week has arrived? For many New Yorkers, the beginning of FW (and the end to our blissful summers), has little to do with the insides of the tents of Lincoln Park. For us, it's all about who's going to have the best place to party this fall. And this year, Nur Khan's new outpost, the Electric Room, underneath the Dream Hotel, will certainly be a top contender. The place is having a soft opening tonight, though we imagine it will be a hard entrance to score inside...
Last year, Khan's "Don Hills" was THE place to be caught rocking out in for Fashion Week after parties like Chole Sevigny for Opening Ceremony, The Iggy Pop Concert, The Yeah Yeah Yeah's FW performance, Courtney Love, Pop Magazine, the list goes on and on. It was last Fall Fashion Week's "New Boom Boom Room." Let's put it this way, if you weren't at Don Hills at least once during Fashion Week last fall, you probably weren't someone that should be working in the fashion industry in NYC.
And, most of the magic behind that dumpy sidewalk on Greenwich Street had to do with Nur Khan.
This year, Nur has partnered up with Vikram Chatwal at the Dream Downtown hotel and will be opening "in a basement electrical room" just in time for Fashion week. [Nightlife News]

The soft opening will be directly following Scott Lipp's ONE Management's 10 Year Anniversary Party with a Performance by Courtney Love at Hiro Ballroom down the street. We will be reporting on both of them tomorrow!
