"Best $2k I Ever Spent!" Somebody Call 911, NYC Nightlife Is On Fire!

Apparently he decided the VMA after party warranted him buying a bottle of Patron for EVERY SINGLE TABLE there! Wow. And that was just the beginning of the party circuit last night (let alone the weekend). Diddy, Jay-Z, and Justin Timberlake all hit up 1Oak (around the corner from Avenue) to celebrate the VMA's (were they toasting to Team Kayne or Team Taylor?). People jumped back and forth between the two spots most of the night, but when 1 Oak doorman Binn showed up at Avenue at 3am right after Mickey Rourke, it was clear which direction the party momentum had shifted. Avenue went strong until about 4am, at which point the friendly neighborhood cops made sure it shut down on time (unlike Saturday when they kept the music running until 5am!).

Saturday night saw the opening of the much anticipated BOOM BOOM room on the 18th floor of The Standard Hotel. Patrick McMullan told me that he hadn't seen an opening quite like it since Studio 54. More photos and story below.....

Andre Balazs friends all came to help christen the new space including Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, Jude Law, Steven Klein, Rachel Zoe, Simon Hammerstein and, well everyone else in Manhattan.

Saturday night also saw the Alexander Wang after party. Held at "the Gas Station" at Milk Studios, it was the best fashion after party yet (though tonight's Marc Jacob's party may give it some competition). Courtney Love ended up performing at this party that lasted well into the morning.

Friday night saw the Charlotte Ronson after party at the newly opened "Abe & Arthur's" in what used to be Lotus. The EMM guys are hoping to revive this space into it's glory days and the downstairs part (labeled S & L) will help - it's where Rag & Bone's after party took course.

Finally, Rose Bar hosted it's "Nur Khan Rose Bar Sessions" both Friday and Saturday with the Black Keys and The Cult performing. And, as always, The Jane Hotel saw it's fair share of stars and the Dossier party brought out the Misshaps to The Tribeca Grand. And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

This is a good start to the party scene this weekend. Today, we will take each of these parties and examine them one by one, with photos and quotes from the inside. If there was any rumors that the nightlife in New York City was dead, I think we will put those to rest over the next couple of days.

Fashion week, US Open, VMA's.....this is the city that never sleeps....and it's blowing through lines on a double dose of espresso right now!

Stanley is going to need a week of detox if he keeps this partying up!
