Last night, the House of Campari was filled with rhythm and blues. Eli “Paperboy” Reed and The True Loves were playing their classic soul music. Acclaimed by the New York Times, Time Out NY, The Village Voice and Billboard, this swinging band was kicking it last night. I couldn’t believe the Otis Redding-like voice coming out of this adorable and clean-cut young man. His voice and his seven-piece band were incredibly explosive.
They made the swelteringly hot gallery even hotter. You could tell by their performance Reed and Co.’s music is has a lot of heart and soul…old-school soul, that is. They even sell one of their singles on vinyl! Now that’s conviction. If you haven’t heard of these guys yet, I highly recommend you check them out.
