7. Rob Reiner
Although he started out as a writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, Reiner first gained recognition for his role as America’s favorite “meat-head” Michael Stivic, Archie Bunker’s live-in son-in-law on the sitcom All in the Family.
Reiner would go on to direct the cult classic mock-rockumentary This is Spinal Tap working alongside SNL cast members Harry Shearer, Michael McKean, and Christopher Guest.
