What was one of your most personal stories you got to express via fashion?
There's been so many. One issue that really is still close to my heart is when we did the black issue for Italian Vogue. With Steven Meisel. They had to print extra copies. At the time I remember thinking when we were doing that issue this should always be in the magazine, every month. But I didn't realize by doing that it just got so many people focused on the idea of diversity in an industry that needed to broaden out a bit. So that was very personal.
And it's funny because it took so long for it to be a major discussion again.
But for me I live it, so it wasn't even a topic of conversation, it was just more about execution, really. So that's just close to my heart. There's been a lot over the years, but I feel like every kind of story has a part of you in there.
